Hubei: Xianning was famous for sweet-scented osmanthus and called the hometown of osmanthus. Xianning is ranking the first place in China in the following six aspects:.planting area, number of varieties of osmanthus, the ancient osmanthus quantity, the output of osmanthus, osmanthus nursery stock and so on. It always maintains the leading position in species number, quality and quantity, base area of ancient trees and fresh osmanthus production. The osmanthus flower is famous throughout the country for its large flowers, thick petals, fresh color and strong fragrance. In 1963 and 1983, China has named Xianning as "the hometown of osmanthus flower".In 2000, Xianan was renamed as the only "hometown of Chinese osmanthus flower".Currently, the osmanthus products have been sold to more than 10 countries and regions in Japan, USA, Europe and Southeast Asia.

Jiangsu and Zhejiang: The water and heat condition of this growing area is good and the amount of precipitation is suitable. The soil here is mostly yellow brown and the vegetation is dominated by subtropical broad-leaved forest type. In these conditions, osmanthus flowers grow well. The planting area, number of varieties of osmanthus, the ancient osmanthus quantity, the output and quality of osmanthus,these main resource indicators are also numbered in China.

Anhui: Osmanthus is adapted to the subtropical climate, warm and humid. The average temperature for planting area is from 14 -28 ℃, and the growing of osmanthus requires annual average humidity is 75% -85%, annual rainfall of 1000 mm. Humidity is important to the growth  of osmanthus, especially the young tree and duration of flowering. If encounter drought or strong sunlight or shadowing, it will against its growth because the growth general requirements 6-8 hours of sunlight every day. Now osmanthus flower is widely planted in the Huaihe river basin and its south area, However, the climate and soil in Anhui province is suitable for the growth of osmanthus, so the Anhui area is also a famous production base of osmanthus.
